Tackling the taboo subject

Menopause remains one of the most significant yet least‑discussed health challenges affecting women today. In many culturally sensitive communities, it is a taboo subject — spoken about quietly, if at all. Large numbers of women do not seek GP support, often due to stigma, cultural expectations, or a belief that their symptoms are simply something they must endure. Even among white British women, menopause is still perceived as shameful, leading to silence, delayed care and avoidable suffering.

Fab4050 was created to confront this silence directly. Our mission is to destigmatise menopause, increase access to credible information, and ensure that every woman — regardless of background, language or circumstance — can understand what is happening to her body and feel supported in seeking help.

To reach those most affected by health inequality, we operate pop‑up clinics in socially deprived areas, delivered in partnership with NHS London Cervical Screening. These clinics provide safe, trusted spaces where women can ask questions, receive guidance, and access essential screening services without fear or judgement.

Fab4050 stands for inclusion, dignity and evidence‑based care — bringing menopause out of the shadows and into the communities that need support the most.
